Three Topics That Makeup Peace

It’s December! I can’t believe that 2019 is almost done when I feel like it just has started. It’s almost like I need to go back to the beginning of the year and try again but this time more slowly.

With Christmas happening this month, I like to try to make the theme a bit more Christmassy. That is why I am talking about peace this month.

One thing I love about peace is that it encompasses many different topics that we have covered before. For example, it includes gratitude which we covered last November when I interviewed Carolyn about her gratitude.

It is amazing that she has been through so much with her car crash and nearly being paralyzed and yet she only feels gratitude that her husband is okay, that she has people who can help her and so she feels peace.

Hope is another topic that is a part of peace. There have been many people before us that have had hope and have expressed that hope to everyone. Last year, I was writing about the hope of one person who was in a Jewish concentration camp. They wrote a poem that starts with “I believe in the sun, even when it’s not shining.”

That person had so much hope that they were able to inspire others even though they were going through so much worse than what we can imagine.

Peace also has to do with faith. During the summer, I was talking with a woman who is a part of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was talking to me about her decision to move across the country and how she has faith in God that everything was going to be okay and that she is going to have more opportunities than the ones she had before. She impresses me with her knowledge and her faith that she has.

There is so much more about what peace encompasses that I would love to share with all of you. To see more information about different topics in peace, click here.

To me, peace is something that I cherish in my life. I will talk more about my experiences later but I do want to leave this one last thought with you. Peace isn’t something that is without conflict. It is also something that you need within yourself.

For now, I challenge you to think more about peace and how it works in your life. Whether you need more peace, or you think that you are a peaceful person, just try to think more this season about peace.
